Caution: Kids Behind the Wheel!
It has been 18 years since the founders of TREE MUSKETEERS introduced the crazy idea that kids could be effective leaders of environmental change. "I was honored to be part of the second generation of young executives to whom the founders passed the leadership torch." TM president, Angelica Roque goes on to say, "A big part of our responsibility is maintaining the legacy, a place where kids are boss."
Since Angelica joined Tree Musketeers’ Youth Management Team at age 11, over 1,000 local young people have been hands-on leaders in our programs. During that time 1,015,438 kids dedicated 1,017,000 volunteer hours to planting 1,050,951 trees in communities worldwide through our Partners for the Planet Network.
The time is at hand for the third generation of young leaders to take the wheel and steer the future of Tree Musketeers and the youth environmental movement. With that in mind, we are accepting applications from South Bay kids 10-16 who want to join our Youth Management Team, the body that takes all programs from drawing board to debrief report. Requirements are simple: our youth leaders do not believe it when people say that “you can’t change the world” or that “children should be seen and not heard.” If you would like to learn more about this leadership opportunity, call Tree Musketeers at 310/322-0263 for details.
